POSITION: PROGRAMMER
TYPE: FULL-TIME, SALARY

Bihrle Applied Research, Inc is seeking a programmer who is a U.S. citizen and has strong computer science fundamentals and a passion for shipping great products. Along with excellent skills in object-oriented software design and programming, you are expected to have real-world experience in Windows application development. You will be responsible for implementing new features in existing applications as well as developing complex applications from the ground up. Outstanding communication skills are critical to work within the product development team and cross functionally with flight simulation engineers. Strong math skills are also required.

You will be part of the product development team where you will be contributing to Bihrle’s commercial software products: DSix, SimGen, CompARE and CGFlight. DSix is a Windows-based flight simulation environment for real-time flight simulation development and deployment. CompARE is a tool for conducting simulation validation, certification & reporting. SimGen is a software tool for predicting vehicle aerodynamics from aircraft geometry data. CGFlight is a tool for generating physics-based air vehicle models for Computer Generated Forces (CGF) applications. More information can be found about these products at www.bihrle.com/brochures.

This position requires working closely with the engineering team and other software developers to smoothly integrate specific components into DSix, SimGen, CompARE and CGFlight. The environment at BAR is highly dynamic. There are many concurrent software projects, requirements definition is often minimal and priorities change in order to meet the immediate needs of our customers. Therefore, the best candidate will be able to juggle many tasks while still maintaining progress and be able to quickly assess “good-better-best” approaches and recommend options to the team leader for consideration. The candidate must also be able to ask for additional information, clarification and prioritization when tasking is unclear or priorities unknown. Finally, the candidate must exhibit a sense of urgency for completing work, a sense of pride in code quality, and most importantly, a positive attitude and passion for what can be accomplished rather than what cannot be accomplished.
