Dynamically Configurable Sound Interface
In order to provide an interface for the D-Six user to build sound applications (i.e., warning tones and messages, engine noises, etc,) into the simulation project, D-Six provides a dynamically configurable sound interface. In this interface, the user can import any Windows .wav
file, and through the simulation variable interface and IOD, control the occurrence, volume, frequency, and left/right source of the particular .wav file. The interface allows the user to graphically map the appropriate simulation variable, set the volume, frequency and pan, as well as
the maximum and minimum for each sound effect. The user can also specify whether the particular sound file will repeat or only play once as triggered by the variable value.
